Why We Clean "Green"

Since the Fall of 2007, cleaning solutions has been converting all of our daily cleaning operations to be “green” or environmentally preferable. We make this change out of our sense of responsibility to our customers and their employees, to our own employees, and to future generations.

Consider these facts:

  • Most people these days spend about 90 % of their time indoors

  • Indoor environments typically contain 2 to 5 times more contaminants than the outdoors, according to the U.S. EPA

  • Poor indoor air quality costs the U.S. economy $60 billion in lost worker productivity every year, the U.S. EPA reports

  • By utilizing a series of pollution-prevention strategies, the EPA’s Berry Study in March 1994 produced dramatic results: much lower levels of airborne dust, a greatly reduced incidence of illness, improved attendance, and improved overall attitude and performance of the teachers and students at a North Carolina child development center

Don’t you want your cleaning program to contribute to improved human health in your facility? Wouldn’t it be great if your cleaning program would also contribute to a sustainable natural environment for our children and their children? How about as a bonus, your cleaning program could earn you points toward ISO-9001 and LEED certification? And what if you could secure all this value for your organization at prices still competitive to “conventional” cleaning programs, and also receive superior quality and customer service? Let cleaning solutions show you how we do business!

“Green Seal” certified cleaning chemicals are recognized by the non-profit Green Seal organization as having no negative impact on the environment either by their use, or in their production. Because they have no ozone-depleting compounds, no or low VOCs (volatile organic compounds), no phosphates, carcinogens, mutagens, or teratogens, they are better for the health of your employees, help reduce overall toxicity levels in your facility, and improve your indoor air quality. Most are without dyes or perfumes, to which some people are very sensitive or allergic.

Microfiber cloth towels and reusable mop heads and dust mop heads help cut down on waste going to landfills. Using 100% recycled, high post-consumer waste, paper towels when needed ensures that we contribute to a sustainable environment. We will also be happy to quote you pricing for recycled trashcan liners and paper products for your dispensers.

The vacuum cleaners our company uses are rigid-plastic construction, bagged and filtered (most with HEPA filters), and most have dual motors. A bigger investment for us, but an investment in the health of your and our employees. All of these features mean less dust in the air of your building and better indoor air quality!

Most of these features of our Green Cleaning program can earn your company points toward ISO-9001 or LEED certification. All of them represent our commitment to make your building cleaner and healthier in fact, not just in appearance.
